Emulation translates data for Windows
Ericom PowerTerm Interconnect or the web-based WebConnect allow access to a central host system from any computer – although the client may use different operating systems such as Linux or Windows. With terminal emulation, data flowing from Unix, Linux or other non-Windows systems is translated to allow Windows to read it. Thus, for example, Unix applications may be used from a PC.
 
Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
PowerTerm solutions greatly reduce the total cost when using different systems. On the client side, a Windows OS is not required as all applications are centrally run on the server and accessed by a browser. There is no need for an additional terminal system requiring maintenance – resulting in reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).

Support is simplified as the client may be accessed remotely. The administrator may access the user’s network, provided he or she approves. Thus a central management system is rendered possible and the support costs are reduced significantly.
 
High usability
PowerTerm Webconnect uses the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) developed by Microsoft for the Windows Terminal Server (WTS). The user may open and use applications of different operating systems such as Linux, Unix or OS/400 through his browser – just as he is used to doing from Windows.
