As an example, prior to the rollout of Windows 2003/XP, the organisational and technical prerequisites as well as the as-is situation are analysed. Moreover, a concept for the preparation of the rollout, including fall-back options and data backup, is developed. Next, the operating system and applications are installed and data is restored.

 

In every rollout, the release, change, backlog and configuration management is implemented. Employment of other tools depends on the particular situation.
