Stadtwerke Essen AG (SWE), a leading energy utility and service provider, has decided to deploy BRAIN FORCE Net Organizer, the network documentation software. The solution will be used to document the complex cable network in order to detect the causes of faults and malfunctions that much faster. In conjunction with the GIS sisNET solution from Bentley Systems this means that an optimum combination has now been created for capturing and documenting the fibre optic cable, copper, power and protective conduit network at the energy utility.
sisNET documents the graphic course of the cable and protective conduit lines as well as their lengths and types. The technical data is captured in Net Organizer and relayed to sisNET. Stadtwerke Essen was looking for an economically attractive and easy-to-use solution for documenting its entire cable network. By combining Net Organizer with a GIS solution an optimum way has now been found to systematically repair faulty feed paths and cable malfunctions, and therefore to significantly reduce costs in the event of a network system failure.
BRAIN FORCE Net Organizer provides access to the constantly updated documentation of the IT and TK networks and can be used as a central Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for all ITK networks based on ITIL. Optimised processes boost the efficiency of maintenance operations and assist the implementation of any necessary changes. At the same time error detection occurs noticeably faster and resource shortfalls are prevented. Furthermore, important regulations such as KonTraG, Euro-SOX, Basel II and ISO 9001:2000 can also be fulfilled with BRAIN FORCE Net Organizer.
In all three fields Stadtwerke Essen AG is working on the further development and maintenances of the networks. Furthermore, the company is also the port operator for the City of Essen.
