The Municipality of Leiden has used BRAIN FORCE Packaging Robot for almost a year now. Their applications are automatically packaged into MSI's, documented and tested. Before they tried to package manually, but soon they discovered more knowledge and experience is needed to package high quality and stable applications. That is why they chose BRAIN FORCE Packaging Robot.
Robin van Berkel, ICT specialist at the Municipality of Leiden: "We had heard many good things about Packaging Robot and in fact we were all convinced by the product. In April 2008, we started to use it. We do not package all applications but rather use Packaging Robot for specific packages. The Municipality of Leiden has a range of software products including for example GISkit, Dezta (PlanProces), BNG/ING, Vicrea, various packages from Centric Suite, RAET (Beaufort), Bakker & Spees, QMATIC (Bavak), and Packaging Robot has proved to be very effective."
Throughput Time
The Municipality was used to long throughput times for packaging and with Packaging Robot has seen the processing time reduced to one day. Van Berkel adds: "We saw that by using Packaging Robot, you can hardly make any mistakes when packaging. Even if you have little packaging knowledge, this solution enables you to generate a good package. It offers outstanding quality and documentation is automatically provided. From my perspective, this is a unique feature."
"Another benefit of Packaging Robot is the OTAP environment which ensures that we have a separate packaging environment which is completely apart from the production and test environments. This greatly helps in limiting any potential risks (incorrect package) in the production environment."
Time Savings
The Municipality of Leiden has a total of 1,800 employees and an IT department with almost fifty staff. Van Berkel: "There's always a lot of work. Before, we used to spend quite a lot of time on packaging. And then it is always a shame when a package does not succeed. With Packaging Robot we now save quite a lot of time. For us, there is huge added value."
